We continue to encourage our partners to direct newly unemployed or newly uninsured patients to ClaimAid Patient Advocates to discuss their options for health care coverage. There are many programs that are currently available to reimburse hospitals and other health care providers for services – including those that will provide coverage for the full, current month even when enrolled after the service has been provided. The HIP Workforce Bridge Program will go into effect at the end of the Public Emergency. For HIP members that lose their coverage due to an increase of income from employment, up $1,000 from their Power Account can be used to offset the cost of premiums, co-pays, deductibles and co-insurance for a 12 month period to help offset the cost of switching to employer based insurance.
211 is now part of Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA). FSSA News Release, dated, July 20th, shared that Indiana 211, a free service that connects Hoosiers with assistance and answers, has been brought under the umbrella of Indiana FSSA, offering a one-stop shop that is a 24 hour a day, seven days a week hotline. This confidential resource, Be Well Crisis Helpline, available through Indiana 211, will allow Hoosiers to call and speak with a trained counselor 24/7. Callers can select option 3 when dialing 211. Hoosiers can still access Be Well services at BeWellIndiana.org.
The timely filing limit on managed care claims for dates of service on or after 07/15/2020 has returned to 90 days. This change was announced in the IHCP Bulletin BT202072.
The state has added 3-month extensions to pharmacy benefit prior authorizations with expiration dates of June 1, 2020 through August 31, 2020. This was announced in IHCP Bulletin BT202088.
